Just spoke to my mate, who has an Astra SRi, and its been in to have the head gasket done and some other stuff, the mechanic who is doing it has said when he was doing some work on it slipped with a grinder and nipped the head, but has had the slice/cut whatever, welded up then had it re-skimmed, would that be ok? Just sounds a bit dodgey to me, but im not exactly mechanical minded, thought id try and ask a few guys in the know
