Un chuffin believable!

Car died on motorway on the way home tonight, locked in place like a good un.

less than 1000 miles ago the lady owner I bought it off had spent over a grand as the aux belt had failed and took out the cambelt - new valves lapped in etc etc... New genuine renault belts etc...

Can't be a coincidence!

It was a quick un too was just starting to really like the bugger! no come back on the old work as its miles and miles away and was done at mates rates - I'll ring them tomorrow for the hell of it anyway.

Oooo paid for half this car on my credit card, wonder if I can get some faulty goods inurance payout!

Not much else can go wrong at the moment....

did it actually have the belts replaced - receipts to prove, belts look new etc?

surely if you've got a receipt you could take it back to wherever the work was done and get it done under warranty?

Yup they were done, nice and fresh, I didn't know where I stood with the reciept as it was not in my ownership when it was done, I'll have a go and ring them, but would you trust them to have another crack after f**king the first effort up? it would also cost me a good few quid getting the car there - its miles away..

It was still a bargain so i'm not totally pissed off - but pretty close!

Spent a fortune on new bots from renault today too!

Wouldn't really like to go down the new engine route - especially as this ones only done 34k, hopefully its not too severe..

Might be a decent time to pop some cams in though?

check that the garage who did the belts had BOTH of the locking tools, if not there is a good chance that the belts were not tensioned correctly.

it might be worth phoning a specialist to see exactly what is involved (if you don't know already) so you will know if they try to blag you.

well its at my local garage where Matt Black built the Clio TT so they know there way round one of these I'd wager!

Infact I'll get Jordy on the vag conversion straight away

Currently speaking with the Trader I bought it off, To see if the initial garage is liable for the work.
