Went out in a 550bhp S4 last night.....

Just spotted the hits shoot up on my pb account from here, wondered who was abusing my pics :)
I like how he's managed to keep it as subtle as possible.

Yeah, the wheels really spoil it at present.
Yeah they do, theyll be off soon as I pick up the new ones. Need to do that before the brakes go on though :(

It maybe quick but i'd sooner have spent circa 20k on an M3.
Fair enough, all about personal preference. I drove rear wheel drive cars for a few years before the S4, yeah they are a good laugh but this is my daily driver and couldnt live with an M3 on UK roads. This is comfortable and I get 35mpg if I want to on a long drive. Yeah itll be boring, thats why I normally get far less ;)

Oh, the turbos are from the 4.2 V8 RS6, not Garrets.
Ill get a vid up of the sound soon as the roads dry out.

aparently he has tanked CSL M3s, lambos, ferraris and porsches. No bad.

Missed the last part of that, not met a prancing rich boy in his (dad's) prancing horse yet but cant wait to ;), numerous M3s & M5s (still cant tell you the difference between the models, they all look the same to me ;) oh s**t thats racist int it! Better not start down that road or the bim fanbois'll come get me :rasp:, one lambo but he wasnt really playing, 2 R8s (1 of which [white one]was follwing me onto the Forth road bridge, sitting up my arse then backing off by about 20m or so then booting it up towards me in quite heavy traffic, I gave more space in front then let him get close, dropped it into 3rd and spat some tarmac at him. He didnt do it again..), Boxter S's, new and old RS6's, Clio V6 :D, Focus RS and ST's are pish so not really worth mentioning (i beat them on wastegate pressure), an old but tidy teg, couple of old skylines, 400+hp stripped out mk2 escort, plenty "fast" mercs", bucket loads of scoobs/evos (one was level pegging with me, a grey evo 6, had a couple of big boost leaks though :)), glanzas and starlets, few more im sure but cant think atm.

All on a track obviously other than the white R8. :rolleyes:

Obliterated a stock impreza turbo, 1 guy in it, I had 3 big guys a wee guy + me, full tank of tesco's finest and a boot full of tools ;) He pulled out the lack of traction excuse... in a scoob!

Few cars beaten me by times me up at crail, only 1 on head to head which was a mapped GTR. Thats probably the only "road" car thats beaten me though.

The car is full street weight, will get it over to the public weighbridge at some point aswell. Will be running below 12s up at crail this year, so expect some low 11s when I get to a decent strip. Another 20hp to come out of it also just by the map. runs reallrich at the top.

Its flowing 432grams air each second at peak flow, from my working thats 335.925litres/s, so it does this to standard air filters:

Some extra cooling coming into play in the next couple of months also once I've done some more R&D. CO2 sprayed directly onto the intercooler doesnt work!

you seen that clown with the L reg skyline shed round our way? 'apparently 600bhp' :eek:
looks like a right shed and always reeks of fuel when he tanks it around.

I know, that fan is stupidly loud. Its the only car you could hear above the fan.
Its the guy on the right's face when the figures come up that get me laughing every time I see that video.

my mate had a 650bhp s4 saloon with all the rs4 arch's and bits on , looks the boooolucks , the car absolutely shifted , quickest thing i have been out in , just a shame it done about 2mpg , the car used to absolutely drink petrol !! if they weren't so juicy i would of bought one , im sure he will be along to post some picd up of it soon , your s4 looks nice

lovely barge, love audi's.. seems like one of the few manufacturers that have a sence of humour when it comes to making huge and sensible yet rapid and a bit daft at the same time :)

which way did you swap the mirrors, body coloured for aluminium or other way?
What was the spec?

Barnstorm did the work to the wings, and I fitted the alloy mirrors from an rs4. The recaros really suit the audi's! The car was the same spec as doug's noggy s4(560bhp at the time) but now is having bigger turbos again!!

Why has it got hybrid like bumpers?
Rear bumper isn't an S4 one and the front bumper is from an RS4 lol.

The front bumper and wings are a straight fit, the rear wings flare out massively compared to standard, right out to the filler flap and bumper so the S4 back bumper doesnt fit. Looks like an RS rear bumpr in that pic to me?

I was down at MRC the day before or after you and didnt get to see your car, was gutted!
Small world eh!

My rear S4 badge is now gone, debadged rear other than the 4 rings.
Not sure whether I want the TDI badge on it :evil:

Down on torque for the moment, think its down to fuelling, but will see.
MAF housing changed back to one with mesh, air filter changed from stock to MRC's ITG panel.

dont think so mate, the torque hits 450lbft by 3500rpm, torque curve seems to have flattened out at the top, was peaking at about 4k before:

thinking about it now, was half 99, half 95 fuel, which would account for a fair bit, but the MRC air filter flows huge amounts of air compared to standard so thinking it may be to do with the restriction on the inlet before causing so much torque and a loss of top end breathing ability?

interesting difference on engine power in runs 1 and 2 with 556 and 518 :eek:


torque from 4200 to 6450 is impressive!!

You work up there?


The difference in power was because the 2nd run was cut short Chic.
The A/F ratio leaned out a bit too much initially and the ecu overcompensated causing it to run rich the rest of the way through and masses towards the end.
You can see the visible drop in torque and power at the end of the red line.

33psi rings a bell :D

Thing is aswell, even at red line the cars got more torque than most tuned diesel turbos max at :D

Jesus @ those brakes. Does it need them though? I got the sixes on mine and it's enough to pull your face off. Would have thought it was just more unsprung weight?
