went to view a cup @ a Dealership 2day and...

  leon cupra R
guy refused to take it out for a test drive as he said " young lads keep coming to view and test drive and all they do is rag it'' i said well im 23yrs old my dad would test drive it anyways ... then he went on about me coming back tomorrow after i got insurance quotes as if i buy the cup it will cost me around 1500 to 2000 quid ontop PMSLOL and then i said how long you had the car and he said oh from yesterday so i said thats intresting youve had it since yesterday and all these young kids keep coming to view and test drive lol he didnt reply

RIGHT THE CONVO

me-'mate im 23 with 4 years no claims'

dealer- i know but your insurance will cost at leat high 1500 a year'

me- erm ok im pretty sure i could get in fully comp for around 700 quid

dearler- well i dont want to take it out but when you get some quotes then come back as i think it will be really expensive at your age

me- 'ermmm ok mate' - i turned and looked at my dad as we wer both thinking

f**king MUG

proceed to look around the car and he said ' really fast fast car' and that it would catch me out hold on a second[ i ride a gsxr 600 and i top the god dam bike out wen ever i can] so i doubt a cup will scare me ayy!!!

as i popped the bonnet he was saying 'you can see how big the block is etc that its a pretty damm quick car'' i turned looked at my dad again just wanting to tell him to shut the hell up lol

anyways he was determined not to let me have a go untill i got quotes so we left after viewing the car which had:

-dodgy boot which wouldnt open
-rip in the seat
-fag ash everywer
-aftermarket stereo which wasnt actually fitted to good
-as dirty as my last gf
-tyres wer on the bald side
-alloys slightly curb'd
-unknown exhaust system - loud as hell
and for all of 5999quid 45k on the clock

some how i didnt think so even tho he said he would replace the tyres and add warrenty and then told me that if i view a private sale cup it wouldnt be better then this one

wot a day altho i did go and look at a jap garage with some nice skylines after lol

What gets me is, if i was a salesman, i wouldn't give a fook who you were, my job is to sell the car.... earn comission etc!!!! I wouldn't actually care if you couldn't insure it lol!!!

I payed 8K for my 172CUP about a year ago now, but it was the mintest of mint and only had 14K on the clock!

Much rather that than a Stnadard 182!!

It is a CC Cup tho.

  BG 182
I saw a few crappers when I was looking for mine.. same kind of thing happened really, the salesman acted as if he didnt want to sell!

very similar to my experience at the stealers , nobody wanted to talk to me :S . i sat down at a salesman's desk and he carried on typing :quiet: .

Speaking as a former car salesman at a Ford dealership, we used to see lots of young guys trying to blagg test runs in the fast Escorts, 3 liter Capris ect. It was obvious they did'nt have the financial wherewithal.
What would you have said to them?

Chap didnt really know but offerd to knock 300 quid off the price
so was up for 5700ish down to 5400 but i still wernt happy with it shame really as the interia was absolutely mint and clean

70k or 5 yrs. I got mine done @ 50k as it gets some stick. Main thing to remember is to change the AUX belt @ 35k ish. Not in the service book, but a few have been known to fail and take out the cambelt!!!!!Chepa on a Cup too, around £12, and about 15 mins to change too!

Yeah I understand they must get a lot of time wasters, but it is certainly annoying when you are a genuine customer and they are not interested.

I turned up in an M3, and my insurance costs about 70% of the value of the car I wanted to test drive, so it's not like I was some chav in an old fiesta like posted before, and they just weren't interested what so ever.

I used to get this all the time. But when I pulled up at the Renault garage the other week in the Vee, on my own, I was offered a test drive before I'd even asked heh. Never had that before - I'm blaming the Vee. I don't think it looks good if you take a mate with you either, might look like you're just out for a laugh in a flash motor?

After a while you developed a kind of sixth sense that could sniff out the chancers. Not a 100% though. lol

The dude was there with his dad, so it's hardly likely that he was messing the stealers around.

I find exactly the same thing with most car stealers tbh, in fact I love all of the speal, I let them go for it a bit (the usual bs they come out with) then set them straight. Most of them are utter mugs tbh.

Not mugs exactly, in the big dealerships there is in depth training given and I'd say they are more than a match for the average punter. I baulk about even going in to a showroom these days cos of their superior and arrogant attitude.

Lets just say that the ford main stealer I went to when my mum was looking for her (used) focus a while ago got owned every which way.

  APR LCR225
When i went to see mine before i bought it the day after it arrived at the garage, the salesman threw me the keys and said take it for a spin, see what you think!lol! Absolute minter too.. Took it out for a good blast all by myself!:D

sounds normal for reno tbh
a few years ago my mate gally went to reg vardy in doncaster with his cheque book in his pocket to buy a brand new 182, he was met with the same bad attitude so he proceded to rotherham and bought one the same day.
these people are half whits

i bought my 182 in March this year, I was 23 at the time and was with the girlfriend.

Got great service tbh... the salesman could see I already knew lots about the cars, so didnt get any bullshit from him. On the test drive he told me to go round the roundabout a few times fast to experience the ESP!

top bloke, great service. The other half even got a bunch of flowers when we collected it.
