Wet tyre recommendations for Mk2 dCi?

  54 Clio Van w/Sports Kit
Hi guys,

You've probably had loads of threads like these but I couldn't find anything specific to my query when I searched.

Basically, my front tyres are on their way out and to be honest they've never been particularly good, especially in the wet. I've got a Mk2 Clio Van (dCi) with a mighty 65bhp (although hopefully getting it remapped when I get a bit of spare cash) and I'm stumped what to get. Going on the fact that it rains so bloody much in this country, especially next to the Pennines; I'd like some inexpensive tyres with a focus on wet performance.

I'm looking for 175/65/R14. I've had a look on those tyre fitting websites, but not really sure what's good or not.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

No suggestions? I'm looking to get the fronts replaced soon as the tread is getting pretty low and one of them I have to top up with air every couple of weeks or so

Cheers

Depends what you're wanting to spend really. I've got Goodyear F1 Eagle's on mine and they are extremely good in the wet, although you do pay more than you do for budget tyres. Kumho are supposed to be a good relatively chaep tyre, but never used them myself so can't comment on these really I'm afraid.

Thanks for the replies :)

I think my Clio must have a pretty unpopular wheel size as I can't seem to find either of those suggestions with the right dimensions. Tried looking for a few tyres that got good reviews such as Hydragrips but no luck.

Perhaps I need to focus on budget models. Certainly better for my wallet anyway. Got some Kumhos on the back actually so maybe I should look at their range.
