I discovered how tail happy the Clio is this morning! So I'm looking for advice on the best rain tyre for the Clio (cup). I'd normally just go for conti's but I'm aware you guys will possibly have a better option in mind that suits the Clio better?
To be honest mate conti sports are pretty good! Only other tyre i can really think of would be michilan or such like! But really its mostly down to the driver, if your slipping about on decent tyres then you need to slow down lol no offence!
Honestly, I wasn't driving hard! I trust conti's but I've read mixed reviews about them recently, and if they have gone off the boil a bit, they are pretty expensive!
The eagle f1's on the front grip like mad, I might look into them on the back.
Quite a few rate Uniroyal Rainsport 2. I have Vredestein Sportrac 3's on just now, and they have excellent wet grip. They are a summer tyre though, so you might not want to run them during the winter. I will be. I'm not forking out for a different set of tyres for a few months when I drive a very non-spectacular car.
I looked at this as I've had this issue before on another car, no sign of any problems. I was going slow though, so less likely to be this. I was pulling out of a roundabout, not flooring it, just normal pace and off she went! I think it's got a lot to do with the weight of the clio at the rear and the war it shifts it's weight onto one tyre (and s**t tyres on the back). I imagine the road surface was greasy too as it's adjacent to a petrol station.
As a side note, I have Goodyear Eagle F1s on the front, they seem very good, but bloody pricey it would seem, the P Zero Neros and proper Conti Contacts I can get at a good price. I've yet to find the Kuhmos anywhere near me.
