What’s the sketch with warranties

Im selling my 02 plate clio (May 02) to my mum, and was wondering whether the 3 yr warranty is manufacturer or 2yrs manufacturer and 1yr dealer.

If it is the latter is it applicable to any dealer, or the one where you purchased it?

Should be 3 year Manufacturer.

Take it where you like, so long as you trust them!

Its just my mum lives in Cornwall, yet the car was bought from Bolton. For some reason I thought it was a 3yr warranty but the 3rd yr was a dealer warranty.

Its dealer year Renault one year "dealer" what ever that means!

Mine was one year manufacturer then 2 years Dealer as long as Service History is all present and correct and remains so for the duration. 60K max miles / 3 yrs whichevers sooner.

Will be any dealer.

Any official main dealer (some indendents display Reno badge, but not Main dealer)

check with Reno HQ for official ones in Cornwall.

Also get anything sorted before xmas - leave anything till last few months of warranty and theyll be very very slow in helping!!

Check the warranty paperwork with the car, it should explain what is covered and how over the various years.

I will check mine tonight. I know certain things like inside trim arent covered after the first year etc, but it clearly states Manufacturer 3 year warranty so I doubt that you would have to go to the supplying dealer for the last year.

Better still check with the dealer in Cornwall to see what they have to say

Cheers people. Just had some work done under warranty at Manchester but I never asked whether it was under a manufacturer warranty or a dealership one.

I think its changed Ive used loads of different garages as Ive moved house etc with no trouble. Apparently according to my most recient dealer visit I can go to any Reanult dealership in the UK for work.

The Renault warrenty is 2 year Renault and one year dealer, look on the site.

It wont matter after may 1st (i think) anyway - new legislation of fair trading means ANY garage can do warrenty work and NOT just the car companies dealers... woo!...

My director at work told me today buddy... heard it on news or something, OR it "could" have been her sister who is a lawyer telling her after talking about my car being in reno right now under warrenty being sorted.. ill try find out how she knew, ill txt now...

I am aware of that ruling. Its been the case since October. Its to do with the scrapping of "block exemption."

So I could go to my local (VAT registered garage) and get warranty repairs done and they can claim the £ back from Renault?
