bit stupid but what are these? just gone under my car to change the cat and seen that these are in a horrid state, I know they're bushes but what type? Also what affect will they have on my car being in this condition??

Yep anti roll bar bushes indeed (non sport type), only a few quid to buy but don't tend to last very long I'm afraid

At that price it doesn't really matter if they only last a year, I used to change them on the mrs old dci before every MOT. I think to be completely correct they're classed as anti roll bar drop links but as you've seen they're easy enough to find and buy
