What Battery . . . . ?

  172 - Ph2 Flamer
Hi Everyone , This May Seem Stupid ' But I'm Looking At Buying A Battery For My Ph2 172 - Should I Go For A Genuine One From A Dealer £55 - £60 Or I've Seen Bosch Etc For Slightly Cheaper On E'Bay . . . . Warranty On Them Are Nearly The Same 3-4 Yr's - Any Idea's . . . . ?

Get the Bosch one you can't really go wrong, 3 year guarantee i believe. I got mine from Halfords, but went for Halfords own make which is a 2 year guarantee but around half the price, so even if it fails I'll buy another and be quids off with an extra year warranty in total!

Halfords own brand batteries are by Varta.

Own - 3 year guarantee
Advanced - 4 year
Bosch S4's - 5 year

Yep 4 years, stuck one of our advanced ones in my 1.2 when I first got it, only been in for 6 months but still as good as new.

They have a longer warranty as the calcium battery is meant to handle shorter journeys better.

The excide is better, more cranking amps and 4yr warranty. Personally I reckon your better off with an 063 with minimum 400CCA

Nothing wrong with Bosch, great battery but your compairing the budget Bosch S3 with a mid to high end Excide. For the extra £5 its more than worth it

The Bosch S4 is just over £40 on ebay
