what bhp are you guys gettin on the roads?

Car  Italian 3.2 V6
hey, i found a dyno chart graph with all the document i got with my new car today, just been flicking trough it and wounderd what BHP/LB.FT you guys wer getting from the wheels onto the road, NOT FLY-WHEEL..

you will get lots of numbers the only way you will know if yours is underpowered or over is to find some one whos car has been done on the same rolling road, then you may get a ball park figure.

plenty on threads on this in the engine gearbox and running gear threads :)

thast before we get into the mess of comparing figures from different rollers, but i guess thats why you've asked for atw figures rather than fly :)

I'm making 146 after cams, matched inlets, decat, filter and remap, can't find my torque atw but fly is 155lb/ft

What does yours say out of interest??

well on the paper work i have, the results have come out as 147.6 hp with 135.6 ft-lb at 6000RPM are those figures good? car has a stealth exhaust on it btw...?

thats the thing about rolling roads, theres infinate variables that will result in different readings from one set of rollers to the next, thats before we get to the grey area of figures being "fudged"

truth be told you can only compare figures from the same rollers, sometimes only even the same day...

for example on a thursday my car made 176.2bhp then on the follwing tues 174 on the same rollers.....

183.2 bhp and 151 torque mine made today

172 cup - RStuner map - Stainless exhaust

I need a 182 Mani, Decat and ITG then it's going back on

oright so basicly they are a waste of money etc... unless you want a total rough estimate.... sounds aload of bollox if you ask me since its not even 80% accurate... whats the point in these rolling roads :S ???

Transmission losses approximately 20% on any vehicle with helix cut gearbox, so your ~172 at the fly becomes ~140 at the wheels.

The point, well if you took your car to one RR and it got 150HP at the wheels .. then you went away and remapped it, or changed the air box, or redesigned the exhaust - or whatever you wanted to do .. you can take it back and see what happened to the power/torque curves.

:)

rolling road is a mapping tool. Figures are secondary TBH. a useful indicator and good for showing where improvements can be made, but they never tell the whole story

Indeed you do mate!

You know when i was stood there with the real relaxed look on my race when the first run was 180.9bhp... I seriously wanted to get naked and dance like i've never danced before

Almost fainted after that

Just can not wait till our track car is finished, will take it to RStuning to get a accurate figure, then i will be over to that RR for a internet figure and graph dont you worry :D

I reeeeeeeeally shouldn't be thinking about spending a penny on my car! Have a house to think about

p.s Anybody selling a 172 cup decat or itg filter pm me!

188bhp @ the wheels ( then exhaust fell off on the way home, corroded to f**k, so i'm calling it 190! :D )
