what BHP do you reckon

  A SHED!

My 16v when finished by hillpower will have the induction kit, magnex cat back, h.p chip, cams, verniers and maybe a de-cat pipe. I wanna put it on a rolling road to see, but until then does anyone have a rough idea over standard? Also what would be the next best mod? Thinking about saving up for a 2L bottom end? benefits?

Tiger - try some searches as there has been threads on this before! Some Williams give more than others I think.

ill give u both ............. 100bhp at the wheels! just a bit more bhp than a vtr

he he he he

Thats a bit optimist Ben - your just getting there hopes up!

My Williams with a superchip/decat/and Piper-X filter did 166.8 bhp on the rollers at BTT. Now I am using Optimax and have BTTs full exhaust I would be hittting well into the 170s.

Hope this helps you guys.

About 150bhp mate maybe a tad over or a tad under! U need a unichip really to get the most out of the modifications. and if u can get a 2l get one. I wished I could have found one when i had my engine work done. now im having the engine out again to get a 2.0 slapped in. No matter what u do to the 1800 it will be sh*te under 4k revs!

My 1764cc F7P with a bit of head work, cams, verniers and breathing mods made 128bhp @ the wheels at a recent RR day. Most standard 16vs seem to make 110-120bhp @ the wheels, so Id say youre on for a 10-20bhp increase at the wheels with the mods you mention. At the fly calculations are an imprecise science unless you do a direct at the fly dyno (which requires the engine to be out of the car), but Id say that 150-160bhp at the fly seems to be the norm for those mods on the F7P.

With the F7R bottom end, my expereince is that they make about 140bhp at the wheels - before any mods. Thats 172 territory and explains why 2.0 16vs/Willys seem to be faster than 172s/Cups up the 1/4 mile.

Unless youve got the cash for forced induction, an F7R bottom end is the way forward if you want power.

Was just about to add that...

I saw that green Phase1 16v in Bristol again today. We were both on a road out of Bristol together and we "compared" our performance. Bad news for the green car... black reigns supreme. (y)

Its a straight swap for the 1800 block. All u need is the willy/megane starter motor as its smaller so it fits and a 2.0 chip. sorted.
