what bulbs does the phase 1 172 use

im not being thick on purpose but i dont have the original manual, a haynes manual and all the bulb sites i keep going on are giving me different views, thanks in advance.

iirc they are called something like a HB3.

hb3 never had them before, the sites ive been on say h7, h4 and h1 so i really dont know looks, i was hoping to get the right bulbs then remove them and just swap over but it looks like ill have to do it the long way.

from the looks on the phase 1 there are 4 bulbs, 1 indicator, 1 side light, 1 main beam and 1 full beam,

Main beam and full beam mean the same thing. It's main beam and dipped beam.

After a quick search on here it seems dipped beam is HB3 and main beam is H7 on them.

I bought a replacement one from halfords when I first got my car and my HID set is 9005.

(9006 look identical but don't fit)
