What Can I Do

Need a bit of help, bought some wheels on the net a couple of days ago, got them yesterday. When i got home to put them on i found that the back wheels wont sit on the drum cause of the caliper. I have a Phase2 172.

I spoke to the guy yesterday at the shop and he said that he would send me some spacers out which i wasnt happy about anyway. They are a Toora Platinum 8 wheel 17" et040. Now i know that a Clio has a et37 and i should only need 3ml spacers. However i dont think even with 5ml these are going to fit just by the amount its catching the caliper.

I have been told by a wheel company up here that these wheels will not go on a 172. Unless you shave the caliper, which i wont do.

Now if i get these spacers tomorrow and the wheels still dont fit what can i do? i have a feeling that his guy is not going to help me. What rights do i have? I have spoken to alot of people here about advice on the spacers / offset etc which has been great but i feel id better start getting ready for a fight. Surely he would know that these would NOT fit on a 172. Now i know they fit on a normal clio cause they only have drums.

Any help / advice would be most appreciated guys as im starting to worry.

Wait and see whether they fit when your spacers arrive. If not get some 3mm spacers (Halfords) and try again. If they still wont fit because theyre simply unsuitable you should send them back and get your money back, as theyre unfit for the purpose for which they were sold.

^^ AGREED ^^ the tooras are funny wheels though, mine are ET 40 too, standard 16v offset is 36 so 4mm sapcers should have worked BUT i needed 8mm to clear the calipers, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, you should be able to send em back tho as they are unfit for use !!

plus they dont do the tooras in anything other than 40 and 35, 35 sticks out too much

Erm they are from a place on Street Racers, forgot the name of them, they are in northampton. Think its some chain of Scotts Tyres. Would have to confirm as the receipt is at home.

The problem is obviously to do with the spoke config on the wheels. Too thick. I reckon that even the 5mls are going to catch. But hey i will try.

Wish i had just payed the extra 80quid and got them from up here!

I only got one thing to say....

DONT BUY TOORA WHEELS UNLESS YOU HAVE A DEATH WISH!

Sick of me life at the moment!

Well i know thats more than one thing but hey!
