What causes steering wheel dis-alignment?

Not sure if that's the correct wording exactly...

What I mean is to go in a straight line, I have to hold my steering wheel at a slight angle, really annoying me! My instant reaction was the tracking, but the car doesn't pull to either side when I release my hands from the steering wheel. I thought I could cheat and simply remove it, adjust the angle and put it back on. But I'd rather not bodge it, plus I guess it might muck up full lock? What should I be looking at here, cheers.

Get it aligned in a garage. Make sure the steering wheel is straight when they do it. Local tyre supplier here charges £20. Easy fix

Wheel alignment usually sorts it. Probably worth getting tracking done too whilst your at it.

Have a look at alignmycar.com and find a centre near you that has laser alignment.
Protyre do it if you have a local branch.
Only thing is it does seem a bit hit and miss as to how well a job places do.

Thanks for the website link, there's a couple not too far! Bet the lasers cost more than £20 though?

Well I'm not sure anywhere that does it for £20 round me to be honest!
But not always. Anything from £20 - £60 is normal.
Just ring around your local places, see what the price is and if they sound like they know what they're talking about.

I rung a place when I just got my coilovers, asked about alignment, and told them it was a Clio, and they said, oh you can only adjust the front toe on that.
I replied yea but its on coilovers so you can adjust camber as well on mine. "Oh hang on I'll talk to the manager". I didn't take it there lol.

I know a mate who works in the tyre fitting place, he normally does it for free for me if I buy a set of tyres ;)

I haven't but I've only had the car 3 months.

I believe K-Tec do this service don't they? I shall be popping there later in the year.
