What clay product do you recomend team???

  MkIII Clio Dynamique S
Hey everyone,

I have recently bought myself a nice little Clio MkIII in Met. Black.

I have always had very good bodywork cars. i.e i resprayed them lol

Im up for trying out a good clay product on this car as im not going to do much bodywork to it or respray it as iv wanted a black car for a while.

So team what Clay product would you use??

Cheers,

Steve

What are you trying to achieve in the use of clay ?

It is just to remove stuck on grime and contamination washing alone won't, to improve looks and finish you will need a polish.

I use the Meguiars or Sonus.

got sonus green and grey, but find green is the only clay to use on a regular basis that doesnt cause marring.

Hey Rich,

this car has never been polished or wax, its had one owner and yes they kept it clean but it wasnt waxed.
It has overspray on the rear bumper and rear quarter, bits of road tar, and general grim build up on the car.
I have seen the results of clay and it works well.
Using a clay will put the paint back to a clean surface where i can start polishing and waxing it on a clean surface.

I would get a tar remover to get rid of the tar, clay should clean up the paint nicely, you may need an aggressive one if you want it to remove the overspray. Though a decent polish will also help to sort that too.

Iv got the tar remover, so i will remove it with that then clay.

The overspray isnt to bad, so i think im gonna go for the megs mild overspray clay set for that.

So megs clay sounds like a good bet then......that good as all my cleaning products are megs :)

I've just found a great one, called auto clay from Bilt Hamber. The clay is different to all others as you can actually use it with water instead of needing a lube/detailer spray. This makes it easier to use and saves money too! It is quite fine so is nice and safe, the clay bar is also a lot bigger than most so will last longer. You can get it from Elite Car Care who are good or Bilt Hamber directly.
They do not spend money on marketing and branding like people like Meguiars so offer better value....and they're British
