What engine is this!!?? VIN's wrong!!

Now the car in question is meant to be a 1.2 16v. I've just looked under the bonnet and I'm fairly certain this is a 1.4/1.6 engine! Can anyone in 'the know' please confirm my suspicions!?

We have also noted that the VIN on the V5 doesn't match the one on the door pillar and screen badge. Is there anything else we should check?

Cheers!

Thats a late 1.2 16v Engine 04/54 plate onwards. yea under the drivers seat there is a section of carpet what can be broken it may have to slits in it under there is a stamped VIN. Does the engine size, colour and reg match on the V5?

Ah I see cheers guys, never seen the newer 1.2's! It's an 04 plate so that would explain a few things.
V5 show 1149cc and it's silver etc so that's all correct.
Will have a look under the carpet.

Yup it is a later model of the 1.2 16v... it may look odd, but its just a cover which is attached to the standard factory air filter... hence why, when someone fits a induction kit to their later model engine, the cover is not present.
