What exhaust for a valver

Im lookin at gettin an exhaust and decat but can anyone recommend one? My mate just got one of those longlife ones on his 1.8 astra coupe and i reckon it sound sh*te! Too loud and jap style! All i want is a sweet soundin exhaust when i give my car some beef with a bit of performance!

Any Ideas?

Just buy another car with one already on like I did (didnt know at the time till I got on the dual carriageway lol) - cheapest and best way of doing it!
