Mk2 Fiesta XR2 that was my first car and owned since I was 16. When rebuilt and painted I preferred the look without body kit fitted and that is what causes a lot of the rust! Done loads to it over the years. Still fitted with 1600 CVH.

I wanted to paint it imperial blue, but with it being a pearl colour and me being 16 it was too expensive. Ended up with this colour which is VW Turkis.

Couple of jobs tackled over last few days, refurb’d calipers from SSL fitted by Sean Edwards, along with new SNR bearing rear discs. Thanks goes out to Tom @hopgop1 for the rear calipers. First time I’ve used Sean buy cannot recommend him, Mack and the team enough. Also had new steering rods and ends done at the same time so front end is now fully refreshed.

Then Mot’d for another year, only done 518 miles since last year’s Mot. Sadly, the car is up for sale on Ebay due to the mentioned, just don’t get time to enjoy it.

• Small scuff on the rear bumper getting sorted (my fault - prick!)
• Front wings redone
• Wing mirror covers redone
• New reg plates
• Nearside rear quarter panel being replaced (already here from France)
• Nearside cill repair

No - I don't recall one ever being there?

Then again, I did have the alternator replaced by Renault about 15 years or so ago. Wouldn't shock me if it was never put back on..... they lost my undertray after all.

Non Sport alternator splashguard is different, but can be made to fit sport grill as i done it to my dci years ago. I cant remember exactly how i done it, possibly a zip tie job

Yeah, did it satin black and came up really well. Saves constantly dousing it in trim restorer. I went to town and ended up doing all the plastics.

Swapped out the old seized up, burnt out wiper motor and linkage with a new one.

One thing ticked off the list!

Today, well in the early hours of this morning, I decided that I would get the front bumper that I repaired acquainted with the 2 inch rusty gate hinge that sticks out on the driveway wall. What an amazing noise it made!

The driveway is on a slope and I couldn’t hold the car quick enough on the clutch as my handbrake is useless. It just allowed the bumper to touch the hinge and when I moved forward it pulled the bumper out and ruined everything I did a few weeks ago. The bumper is due to be repainted, but now I have to repair everything again. This morning I managed to resecure it but it just leaves a bad taste in the mouth. (Sad face emoji thing)

Handbrake on my 182 was also useless until I had the calipers rebuilt, then 2 or 3 clicks and it was rock solid. Worth looking into.
