Sorted out the exhaust, now has a nice stealthy backbox and a centre silencer. No where near quiet though! Also fitted a set of Eibach Pro springs to it, if anything it sits higher than before! Hoping it settles, but the original springs were probably a bit saggy. Ho hum.

I also fitted a Ktec Stealth last week, so much classier than the horrendous chavtastic Scorpion with 3" bore I took off , but still makes some noise :smilingimp:.

When I fitted Eibach Sportlines, the drop was minimal over stock (which like yours were probably saggy :tongueout:), I think Pros don't drop as much as sports, so sounds about right .

MOT failure yesterday on offside rear wheel bearing and offside front lower ball joint, grrr. so did both front ball joints as the other was on its way out, the bearing wouldnt press out of the disc, so new disc on too, and now have another year! could have done without the extra expense still riding well now.

Been using it as a daily this week (which was entertaining, Cup tyres in -8C) so it was plastered with road mung.

Gave it a damn good wash, used some Dragon's Breath wheel cleaner to get rid of baked-on brake dust that normal wheel cleaners wouldn't shift. Awesome stuff.

Other than that...... nuffink :)

Refitted injectors, fired her up, moved 2 yards, turned off. All good but another week in the wifes car will keep mine relatively clean. [emoji38]

Having only got the car last night... I attempted to drive the car to work. This was the result...

Well the car was acquired from a specialist, who assured me the wheels were torqued correctly however the metal left from the pure motorsport studs show otherwise. All 4 broke away as I had literally pulled off a fast moving A road and was just pulling away from the exit junction on a roundabout. Had that happened minutes earlier would have been very different. New wing, bumper, brake disc and a recovery charge that I need to pay should fix things...

Mate if that's been bought from a trader then surely it's not fit for purpose if that happened and you can take it back to be sorted.

It was swapped with cash my way, however I just hope that it's a one off and his customers aren't leaving with over tightened wheel nuts/bolts. The passenger side was on the verge of snapping too as you could see hairline cracks forming on the stud itself. Needless to say they've been junked!

May have been bad luck, may have been coincidence but what got me was the lack of even an apology.

That needs a name and shame

I understand things happen etc but even specialist or not, if you had just got the car, then the seller should of at least tried not to f**king kill you or someone else

I'm not one to name and shame, as the guy did seem decent when we did the deal and he had driven to me from 2 hours away so I doubt he was aware of the issue that was literally minutes from happening, as that would of meant risking his own life by driving the car, what I am a bit upset by is that since I've sent pictures of the accident I've heard nothing other than to say that he's never come across bolts snapping on PMS stud conversion kits. The passenger side that I removed once I got the car recovered home was also ready to snap - there was stress fractures on the threads where the nuts had been done up too tight! :(
My neighbour actually has CCTV so I even checked that to see if anyone had tampered with the car - literally no one went near it so it's not been messed around with, which can only mean that the nuts were over-torqued. I am grateful that someone or something was watching out for me that evening as if it had happened minutes before, it may have been very different on a two lane dual carriageway in the rain with fog!
