what is a hybrid?

might sound like a simple question but i cant find much actual info about what one is? what is it? meggy 2.0ltr bottom end with a valver head? or is it just a complete 2.0ltr engine in a clio? what sorta power do these put out also? cheers for the help looking to mabey build another engine for my 5 gtt as ive already got a valver lump in there itll be an easy swap

I think it's a totally different engine in your car with a turbo, but the people on here will just batter your head, hopefuly someone will explain easily and we will both learn what the hell a hybrid is.

A hybrid is a Valver with a williams/2.0 F7 engine mostly.

On here it usually refers to a valver with some form of 2.0 (either williams engine or megane bottom end with valver head usually), but more generally a hybrid is used to refer to any car with an engine other than the original in it.

In clio's either a valver with an f7r lump, or a mk2 ph2 dynamique or similar with an f4r.

and as for power figures, the std 1.8 f7p throws out 137 bhp, compared to the 2.0 f7rs 150. torque is up quite considerably too.

a megane/williams bottom end with a std valver head on would be running somewhere around the 140-145 mark i reckon, the willy head gaining that little bit extra.


would be an easy enough swap for ya seeing as tho you already have the f7p in there. swap all ur ancilleries over to a meg b/e and your laughin.

if its for a track car, youl notice instantly how much better the f7r pulls low down, and how much extra distance can be covered in the same amount of time. best mod by far you can do to a valver. imho.

clio conversion does'nt have quite the same ring to it ....go look hybrid up in the dictionary....it's an entirely accurate name for a 2.0 valver
