What is the lowest rear of a clio??

what is the lowest someone has had their clio over standard??

i know this isnt the most accurate but my car was 140-150mm lower than standard for the last few days.

'how'? i hear you crying, well buying off V1NNY on here thats how.

had some springs which were supposedly -35mm, ended up being 60+ and in the last few days they have sagged so low its unbelievable, and eventually i changed the rears over today.

i meansured the distance of the bottom of the bumper to the floor with those springs on, and then with the standards back on, and the car had about 15 minutes of standing in order to let the shocks etc settle.

the arches on the rear were all but covering the tyres, possibly 5mm of visible tyre.

surely thats the lowest clio!?

I doubt springs alone could compress down to -140mm mate or are we talking coilovers? :S

lol, did look good, but it was litterally everytime i looked at the car the rear was sitting lower and lower!

no word of a lie

You fitted them right? The gap between wheel arch and tyre is surely nowhere near 150mm?? Especially with springs filling that gap.

how do you mean mate^^

i measured from the bottom of the rear bumper to the floor both times, with roughly that difference

Did you drive the car between measuring? If you didn't then the suspension will have been extended to it's fullest when you took the measurement with standard springs mate. Probably meaning the difference will be far less than 140 - 150mm.

the car was left for about 15 minutes, and did have my mate sitting and bouncing on the boot bit for a minute, like i said its not the most accurate, but its still a big drop!

what is the lowest officially known for a clio?

well yeah, and it p*sses me off. its either getting cut where its catching or coming out :)
Back on topic, if it was 140-150mm lower from bumper to floor would it be pretty much on the floor?

wouldnt bother taking liner out if you drive it in winter, i had my passengers one out as it was rubbing on 185/55's when i had them and it filled my headlight and foglight up with water as well as f**king my horn lol!!

i dont even come close to fred's. (my hero)

ive max out the drop with the coilovers on the rear on 17"s...
with no rubbing what so ever. :D but nothin like freds custom jobby.
