What is the raised part of the windscreen seal above the rain sensor for?

Our Clio had this prior to the windscreen being replaced the other day. It now has a normal flat rubber seal at the top of the windscreen as opposed to the plastic seal with the raised section in the middle.

What is that raised part of the seal for? Should we have had another one fitted or has the design changed?

What clio do you have, as the raised part is designed for clios with sunroofs.

^not 100% its a bit hit and miss, although i agree its for sunroof'd cars, i've seen them on all different clios, there was a problem with the flat ones "flying off" at speed and the "spoiler version" was a moddified part allegedly
