What is this and where does it plug in?

Hi, can anyone tell me what this does and where it plugs in? I'm guessing it's a light or temp sensor but honestly have no idea, was on the floor of my stripped out track car (Stripped by previous owner)

It's the cabin temp sensor, goes in the roof by interior light, on the panel there's some holes and it clips in above. There is a technical name for it but it escapes me at the moment
