What is this for

and its not meshed thats just the intercooler you can see. tbh on most of these cars they do it more for looks than purpose as they arent running enough power to notice any difference although more cold air to an intercooler is always good news

Ah I see thanks loony. I take it they are really turbo cars and not just for show?

Do they have fans that suck in the cool air? Sitting down the seafront doing 2 mph for 3 hours, I guess they need these.

looks genuine to me as its infront of the rad and pusher fan you will see on an RS turbo but there are a few out there that have had a dummy one put on to complete jap look bodywork and hence are just for show

They make a big difference in Charge Temperature on the RS Turbos and Cosworths - some tests have shown that a good intercooler can drop temperatures from 60degreesC+ (on a standard i/c) down to 40degreesC regardless of the outside temperature.

Definitely worth it on a turbo car I would say - I want one for mine!! :)

Quite a few RSTs have this - its seems to make a decent difference - I think its pig ugly but thats the best one ive seen!

apart from what you lot have said, its so when you have a crash the bumper just disintegrates and doesnt do its job as youve taken all the support out of it :devilish:

the rad on an escort has a pusher fan in front of it muppets put cds on them so you can see them through the grill, im so certain its an intercooler id wager a testicle on it
