Who knows. I thought the alarm sensors were the ultrasonics by the doors though? Ive never seen it illuminate so im gussing your right in thinking it's a sensor of some sort..

If u have climate control, could it be a sensor for the "auto" function?

believe the later models have the climate temp sensor like that , old design was the fan that gets noisy

If not maybe its an import which got an alarm fitted aftermarket?
