What makes a backbox loud?

Yes I have searched on google. No luck.
Basically, I'm going to have a backbox made up by a garage near me (stealth/standard) but the backbox itself its quite wide and big but the tip is the usual 2.5" tip.
Is it going to be loud? Because that is not what I'm looking for. I wouldn't mind a tasty rasp in high revs though.

I wouldn't worry too much speccy, there are many ways of silencing an exhaust, some manufacturers use different techniques

i have a very small rear box and a 3" slash and its fooking noisy, the bigger the box the quieter it will be
