what oil?

hi iv not long got car back from garage and they put 10w 40 semi synthetic oil in my clio 172 w reg i thought they were suppose to have 5w 40 fully synthetic but the bloke at garage said 10w 40 would be ok? is it ok to run these cars with 10w 40 semi or not?

10-40 is fine its under Renault spec fine so long as outside temps don't drop below -20 degrees.

5-40 is better for the engine when cold but its nothing.

ok thanks for that!!!! what make oil is the best to use then do you think? my engine seems to be a bit tappy when iv got back from a long drive and engine is hot thats why i got concerned about the oil.

ppl will recommend different oils from their experiences , silkolene 5w40 is quite good too
