What pads and compounds to use next.

Hi all some help needed please.

I was going over the Clio last weekend with the DA, a white hex logic pad and AF Rejuvenate.
The problem i was having is there was some light scratches that i could see in the roof and bonnet and some swirls which the combination i was using did not seem to shift.

So my question is whats the next "step" What pad and compound should i go up to?

Ive also got my misses car to do which is a sliver Corsa, the paint work needs alot of correction.

Oh forgot to say that i do have a Rupes rotary but i do not have any pads for this.

Cheers in advance

Scott.

Did Ant correct this recently....?

If so, I'd suggest looking at your regular cleaning regime rather than keep polishing the life out of it ;)

Also .. rejuvinate is a cleanser - you won't lose any scratches with that from what I can work out !

Yes mate he did and the scratches where there then. He suggest about wet sanding the roof and bonnet but the ones i noticed i was thinking maybe i could get out with a better pad and compound combo.

Ill need this when doing the misses car anyhow.

If you're happy with the hex-logic ones - get something a little chunkier. The white one is a very low-cut (if anything?) for cleaners/LSP etc.

Get a med/high cut and a polish or buy a few things from 3M's range (on CYC/I4D) as it's all colour coded/idiot proof .. even I managed it

I don't know enough about it mate tbh, the pads ive got seem ok but it was a recommendation from here when i wanted to polish my brother-in-laws car.

I guess there is a correct pad and compound combo that i need, wether it be for my DA or rotary then im all ears (yes i know they are a little big)...lol

It just needs a lot more time spending on the problem areas, a DA certainly won't shift anything any time soon mate.

you reckon, have you not seen some of the results that can be achieved with a DA assuming the right pad/polish combo is used?
