what PSI to run a spray gun at?

bought a compressor and gun. sparying a few bits on the car, roll cage, subframes etc.


what PSI should i run the compressor at?

Well i run mine at 27-30 PSI mate, various gun to gun though!!

as above..... is it a gravity fed or suction type? what size compressor do you have?

also varies what your spraying!

I usually run about 40.

is it easier spraying with gun then out of a can? i find cans are really bad for leaking at the nozzle and for splattering i rarely get a good can, think ive managed to spray 2 things perfectly

as above all depends on the gun/compressor and the users personel preference...
pressure pots need to be about 10 psi at the fluid tip , but at the regulater end it would be reading about70 psi .. ......
have a mess around spraying test things till you find the best setup for YOU ...

as you say you need a gauge before the gun to be totally accurate.

gravity feed guns, such as DEvilbiss GTi or Sata Jet run 2bar of pressure for spraying.

But like its been said, depends on so many factors!

Waht paint are you using? Basecoat and clear? Topcoat (2k)? Cellulose?
