What rack do I have?

Any one know what steering rack I have? I've iced my vin on Renault dealer site and It still dosent narrow down, I have a w reg phase 1 172 ....... Going to replace inner tie rods but can't work it out... Where on the rack is the marking? Don't fancy going outside label hunting as it's thrashing it down

Good luck with that, it's so well hidden and will be covered in muck, it's hard enough to see when the racks out.

Where abouts on the rack should I look? Sounds like this is going to be a fun job ... But never the less I want to get all the components fresh and set up after 14 years the car deserves it roll on pay day I can finally pay and renew my membership and get some nice shiney bits .... Tony aparently there's a guide on here where uve modified the gear linkage etc? Don't suppose uve got a link I've copied your guide to lowering the rack and it feels loads better and I do t really fancy paying £300 for the pms kit I mean I will if I have to but still feels far to much money for what it is ....

You have to look at the back of the rack, so from behind looking towards the front of the car, where the column meets the rack.
