You don't need it, block it off.

You'll get a high idle from having a vacuum leak, it usually jumps to 3k rpm.

Ok whilst you guys are around any ideas what these wires that are connected to the bonnet release cable are that have been cut??

I know vey little about car electrics, does your car think the bonnets open when it's closed?

No I have no lights.
I can’t however see any bonnet switches? Should there be one and where? That could be it then.

Looks like bonnet switch wiring to me, would go where that hole in your grill in the above photo is.

They were for the bonnet switch I think. Often people unplug the switch to stop the alarm going off.

I used one of these to block the acoustic valve port:

Open the car will idle poorly.
