What size is the front plate?

I don't have a clio yet, but I own a private plate (for 2 years) and I want to add to the clio once purchased in a few weeks.

The rear plate I will leave as it is.

However, I would like the front plate cut to size.

What size is the recess? As an estimate I would say, standard plate width, and 3/4 plate height?

520mm x 84mm? I will order the plate from Fancyplate.com before i get the car ready to put on.

Thanks in advance... :)

It will have to be a standard size for legal reasons. If you chop yours it must be the same size letters and numbers.

The recess will be standard as it left the factory but you can chop your plate down if you have less numbers etc than usual

Maybe I wasn't clear.

I'd like to know the height of the recess for the front plate, I don't want the plate to hang over like it does on standard plates.

I don't like the 3/4 width, too short.

I could chop the plate myself, but don't want to, would rather order a plate to fit the space exact.

Anyone?

The search is your friend dude, look for a thread titled something like 'my new plate' as a dude in there has what you want.

I'd be more interest in getting the actual car first tbh.

I can't get a Cup till July, as this is when my buyer collects the GTi.
No harm in preparing. :)

520mm x 84mm

Excellent, cheers buddy :D

Is that totally legal FlameR ?

I would assume yes, standard lettering is aprox 78mm high, so with 84mm plate it's fine as long as you keep the font the same as on a normal plate.

As far as I was aware thats the case, isn't it the size & font & spacing of the lettering thats got to be legal, not the plate size?

520 x 112mm is the UK legal requirement

some bimmers have 520 x 152mm due to the depth of the boot recess.
