What spec seats+harnesses can I/ should I use for road going hill climb class?

  172 track thingy
I am going to be entering the road going hill climb class with my clio 182 and I wondered what aftermarket Seats and harnesses I can use when I enter this class?

Is there anyone who is entering/ entered this class that can give me some pointers for the interior as well?

thanks

Dan

Which events you doing?

the ones i'm aiming to start out at are in may and its the anglesey/ cheshire sprint, i'm only going to test the water at these as it will be 1st one but i have the royal navy backing me to take part so it should get serious soon after :)

Oh right, none down here then lol.

the nearest one that the navy want me to enter is castle combe and thats in april which is to close for to have the car ready.

there are a few smaller sprints down here but most have died away in the last few years according to my co-ord, chevinal (or however you spell it) was a hill climb they rated down here but that was not on last year and prob not on this year as well :(

Nuts to 'em

Castle
Wiscombe
Tregrehan
Chivenor

are the main events we go to, have a natter with gtrnav too, as he hillclimbs a 172 (currently mid conversion into a cliopreza) down here.

Are aftermarket parts eligible in the road going class?

yes according to the blue book it can have aftermarket seats and harnesses as long as you dont reduce the number of them in the car, i can also fit a cage if i want lol

Errr. Well, if I get my car fixed by then(!) I'd probably go and spectate at a few, probably tregrehan and werrington, but in terms of actually competing, I don't think my mate's doing many hillclimbs this year after a slight difference of opinion over the Pentillie Festival of Speed, so I'll probably be up with the spectators rather than in the paddock.

Shiftspark is the man to ask

Maybe lol If you are in the road going class ie standard I would buy as light as you can afford and some xtra low frames, they dont have to be in date but I would rather have seats that are as they can be used when you go racing next !!
You can use harnesses using the rear seat belt mounts, they are not ideal as they are getting towards the lower end of whats ideal as they really should be horizontal so you could use a rear cage and put them on that.
