What to do next

Well from my last thread about 5 minutes ago its obvious my head gasket is gone, but iv spoke to my uncle whos s**t hot at engines and hes going to help me basically do a top end rebuild, are there any little things i can do to get more power out of it, i no its only a 1.2 but he said he can port and polish it and stuff like that, any ideas. oh n i no that putting a bigger engine in would make it faster lol but my uncles free n an engines not

Atleast you got some one to help you sort it , best mod, remove that K&n air filter & install the standard airbox, more power for free , wouldnt bother with porting, i've heard that you can expect 10-20hp from a 172.. how much more do you reckon you'll gain on an engine that doesn't even make 65hp lol

aaa lol so the standard box gives more power? altho i like the sound of the KnN so might leave it cus im goin euro n just gna trim and hide my exhaust, fancy a little growl, would porting and polishing do anythin, its gna be free afterall lol i mean would it do more bad then good and would it needs and aftermarket bits with it??

you wont gan anything from a stander air box, but iirc you wont gain anything from the K&N as the engine size is low, not too sure tho, thin you just get sound and poo fuel consuption, sound is good tho lol

couzens i'll have you know my 1.2 clio was rapid.... down hill ... Happy times.. well they would be now with this dam fuel going up along with the tax hike next year ... atleast the 1.2 didnt need shell optimax... £1.23 a litre :quiet: :quiet: :quiet:

11-1 compression all the way.

Loads could be done its just cost vs triel.

I woulnd't bother trying to port unless you know what your doing easier to get worse flows and power by having a go.

Best get a book on tunning engines and start reading.

Ring round local garage see who they recomend.
