what to do

  RS 182 FF
OK folks I'm yet again after some more advice.........

I'd like to start tweaking the 182 so was wondering what way to ....induction kit / 64mm throttle bodies / exhaust etc etc ......I'm not made of money but was hoping you guys could give me some honest ideas as to what are the best power ( if any ) gains to be had for obviously as cheap as possible ....:D

Surely some of the stuff must make a difference somewhere ? I'm not arguing but there seems to be a lot of people on here that changed the basics and they wouldn't of done it unless there was some improvement ........would they ?

welcome to cliosport, home of the sheep modifiers ;)

air filter exhaust and remap might see you gain 10bhp max (if you're lucky) and that lot will cost £1K for good stuff

There really isn't much improvement tbh, i had a standard ph1 172 now a 182 with zorst map and matched i lets and straight line performance feels no difference. The 172 still felt better because of cable throttle.

So yeah on that note the best mod to do is probably cable throttle if you actually want to see some improvement.

Thanks for the heads up I can see this isn't going to be as easy as I first thought........was thinking 64mm tb and an induction kit  but now I'm thinking all that's going to do is make noise , use more fuel and add no performance .... May just go for suspension instead ?:banghead:

No need for the throttle body, it's not restrictive. I was flowing over 200bhp through a stock one.

Supercharging or turbo charging is the only way of getting decent power out of these.

Have to admit I thought this was going to be an easy car to get more power out of but the more I hear the harder it sounds.......and more expensive as well !! LOL:cry:

Have done a little reading on here now on the 64mm TB and there really doesn't seem to be any advantage at all which I have to say I'm surprised at as I've done the same thing to my TB's on my bike and it made quite a bit of difference once set up right .....well that , exhaust and an open air box .........
I know the car's already a great little motor but I always like to have a tinker to go for that little bit extra ......you can never have enough , or so they say !!
