What to look out for on a test drive?

hey guys,

My gf is buying her first car and she wants a clio. With her budget she can just about afford the 1999 upwards clio, i think mk2 or possibly mk1, not really sure.

Now, i dont really know anything about clios. I know what sort of stuff to look out for when viewing a car in general but wondered if there is anything in particular i need to ask/look out for with clios?

not too much to look for on standard clios really, engines are easy to work on and cheap for second hand parts
just look over the car for rust dings etc check s/h, if it drives fine looks ok and the garrage seems genuine you should be fine

after all it is only a first car so will be covered in dents soon enough
