what tools will i need ..........

  CLIO PH1 172
hey

got a pretty big job (for me) to do on sunday, if everything turns up.

im changing all the discs and all the pads on my ph1

but my question is what tools will i need ? i have most tools but just dont want to be cought short and un able to get to a shop to buy some (as my car will be in bits)

any help or advice would be great

(is there a guide for this ? i coulnt find one)

You'll need a socket set with various sizes, to get the caliper and bits off, and torx bits to undo the disc from the hub.
and something to push the caliper piston bit back (think that's what its called lol) for when you refit.

  330i. E30 Touring.
As above.

Jack and axle stands.
Socket set.
Breaker bar might be handy, but it's not necessary.
Torx bit for disc retaining screw.
Hammer- needed for every job in the Failsport workshop.

A G-clamp or large plumbers grips can be used to push the piston back into the calliper if you don't want to buy a piston push back tool

you'll need a screw driver for the rear disc too. 1 for screwing the caliper back in, and one for knocking the pad holding in piece of metal thingy.lol. You'll know what I mean when you see it. At the bottom of the rear pads. I've done a guide, but there are a few others too.

It's really simple yeah. Just make sure things are nice and tight and refit the rear disc spacers on hub side

17 and 13mm spanners for the front calipers and just hammer, pliers and screwdriver for the rears.

Plus for the front, drill and bits when the disc retaining screws won't budge and lump hammer to remove seized discs from hubs.

Rears, are you getting discs with the bearings pressed in already, the bearings need to be pressed in/out and taking the bearing out normally breaks the bearing? I think the rear hub nut is 24 or 30mm, they normally come off fairly easily.

if you're doing the rear disks, you'll need a quite high range torque wrench. The hub nut must be torqued correctly for the longevity of the wheelbearings

and it's a 30mm socket you'll need

got a pretty big torque wrench danny what should it be done up to? also now know i need to get a 30mm socket i think thanks
