What would you do first?

My car is standard apart from a panel filter, been thinking of either sticking on a cat back exhaust or having the manifold matching done.

Leaning towards the manifold work as it's cheaper than a zorst and more likely to get more out of the car in respect to bhp.

What do you reckon?

  Turbos.
Well i was speaking to a forum member on the phone last night and he said he got about 10bhp and 10lbs/ft on the matching from BenR.

Thing is, power is great but you will undoubtedly get more satisfaction from a nice sound.

Scrap the useless panel filter and get a cold feed pipe with inline filter straight to your throttle body - route it so airflow is constant and not going through awkward bends. Then get your hack saw out and cut your catalytic convertor off and weld an 8 inch straight through pipe in its place. Then take your inlet manifold off and polish & port it yourself if you feel the need. You will notice an immediate difference in power from these mods. This is a budget way of uprating power on your car - there are proffesionals that will do the same but charge you for the privelidge.

I know what you mean, may be worth saving up and getting both done at the same time?

I know the decat is good for gains but I'm not bothered about it for MOT reasons, liking the idea of the manifold match, followed by a zorst.

Anyone had probs with the MOT and having a decat?
