What would you do?

Contemplating selling the Cup and getting something else, due to it's recent non-starting issues and costing me a small fortune to put it right I've really fell out with the car. On the drive back from Renault I really couldn't be bothered with it and getting home couldn't come soon enough. At the moment it just seems an effort rather than a pleasure to drive.

Would you sell up and look for something else or would you persevere with it?

A car that gave me that much sh*t would drive me nuts and I couldn't wait to get rid of the piece of crap.

I'll take it off your hands for £500.

I'd leave it as a free present to the guy that lives round the corner, who currently owns a black 1.6 Si. It's little things like this that people appreciate.

But that's just me.. ;)

LOL! If I did that, it wouldn't take long before you're as pissed off with it as me.

Are you still looking at getting an RS anytime soon? Or have you dropped that idea due to insurance?

In all seriousness pal, speaking to you the other day I could tell that the love was pretty much gone. Like you said with the zetec-s, there's a time when you just have to move on. Is everything fixed now - what was up with it in the end?

Edit: Yeah I really can't afford the insurance, still looking at over 3k which would be madness to even consider paying. Hopefully if I sort myself out a job then I can reconsider next year, at the moment even the 1.6 is pushing things. :)

Yeah! It's running properly again now and the right indicator problem is gone (felt weird using the indicators lol). Turned out to be a wiring fault in the engine bay and the faulty UCH was throwing out random electrical faults when the AA bloke ran diagnostic on it. Not to sure what Renault found when they ran a diagnostic on it though.

Yeah I agree, paying an insurance premium that's nearly/more the value of the car it's self would be crazy.

Seriously, it's a hell of lot of car that's a lot of fun too, so be sure it's the right decision before you go ahead. Few other cars are as raw. :approve:

Yeah I know what you mean, when I sold my other Cup a few years ago (financial issues) I regretted it as soon as I saw the new owner drive off and I was pining for another Cup right up until I bought this one.
