I am looking for a slightly newer more sporty looking car and came across a couple of clio 1.4 s maxims.

only 3 miles away, was £950 now reduced to £650, had rust on rear arches, treated and resprayed, hardly noticable.

nearly 2 hours away. was £899 but got him to £800 in an email. looks pretty mint and prefer this colour.

And finally here is my current little beast

- yes i would pay the extra- i would say its worth it with the lower mileage and like you say its the one you prefer

- 2 hours really isnt far if you think about it, a car is quite a big purchase and if its the one you want there is no harm in travelling

yeah only prob is i'm not exactly that meachanically knowledged so would like to take sumone with me, and sumone to drive one car back obv.
Just fining someone with the time

I also had one of these! But i turned mine into a hybrid! Lovely cars, got all the comforts of a 16v, but in a 1.4! There quite good in terms of rust on the ph3 too, if looked after them shells will last a long time. Quite nippy too in terms of the 1.4 class! Plus thats the best Renault Colour imho!

group 11. 1.8 8v rsi. had one for my 2nd car at 17, not huge insurance costs.

nice, i like that but probs expencive on the old insurane.

is it your's mate?

will find out from my insurance how much it woulld be and then i might consider it.
Still the maxim is basically the same without the engine isn't it..

oh and what are them dials bout in the extended bit of the dash??:S

  Monaco RS Clio 172
oil temp oil pressure etc...

not mine no. I had a green one about 3 years ago.

got a 172 now matey. :)

the rsi is group 11 insurance and has a massive fun factor tbh.

how old / how much experience do you have have? try some quotes matey and don't forget to add mum and nan as named drivers ;)

oh and btw yes they are very similar apart from the engine tbh.

the rsi is just hugely more fun IMO

those seats are lovely aswell. I find them more comfortable and supportive than my 172 too. bit strange but, it is what it is lol

nice, love the wheels on that. are they 17"'s

How much did you get for it and when you sell it??? with wheels etc

cheers, but no they are 16's

long story but i sold it on ebay, got £300 for it inc wheels, probably not going to convince you to buy a clio but the whole electrics and imobiliser went due to the sunroof leaking etc

i was 18 last months. Passed my test 8 months ago now in march 2008.
Had insurance on the 106 since janary as i was learning in it too.

..and when i've added my mum too insurance it takes it up oddly enough, and my nans 94 so i wont try adding her

lol... and thats coming from a clio sport member

xsi- too high incurance and quite old
rallye/quicksilver - can't afford more than £1000

Its cumin from a v6 owner and for the money u wanna spend I doubt u can beat an older sporty 106, certainly 100 times better than a mild clio hatch. I had an xsi this year aswell as the vee and the 106 was first choice to go out in for a "blast"

yeah but can't afford insurance on a quiky or xsi :(

the clio in my opinion is a bit more sporty than my current 106. May go back to the 106 scene and get a quiky lter when i can afford it.
head gasket going on my pug so want summin thats a bit nippy for whilst i'm still as college and then will get summin better when i get a full time job
