looking to buy a Phase 2 172 - found one locally:

Silver
51,000 miles
10 month MOT
4 months tax
Full service history....cambelt NOT done

i ask because im on a budget of £3,400 MAX so if i had to pay to do cam belt the max i could offer would be £3000ish i guess?

whats the car worth...am i dreaming?

what is the cost to get a cam belt changed?

it will need the auxiliary belt doing aswell so its technically a 72k service which is more than £400

You'd get a very nice PH1 172 for your budget but I think you'll struggle to find a decent PH2 that's had the belts done for £3400.

Don't rush in. Pick a few that you like, make a cheeky offer and leave them with it. They just arent selling so after a while some sellers just want the cash and take substantially less than up for.

It does seem to be a buyers market at the minute, I got my 02 172 a couple of weeks ago for a good price, for cash there and then!
