Whats the difference between

  Clio 197
The cup is slightly quicker than the 172/182 but not massively but there is not a massive amount of difference between the lot. You can buy the kits off ebay as they are sometimes around but im not sure whether you can get them from renault, i know you cant as a standard car.

  lift number 1 @ btm
isn't he asking which engine is best, and if they will fit into the engine bay of his 1.2?

  RS 172
Its been done, but I wouldnt think its worth the effort considering the mint 172's you can pick up for little money these days.
Of course, once the engine is changed, you have to change the suspension and brakes too.

They do a Mk2 ph1 Clio with the 1.2 16v engine and the Dynamique interior, these were the end of line models and normally on a Y plate and I believe they were called a Clio 'Sport'.
I think your probably looking for a rep though.

  RS 172
On my insurance documentation and log book mine is titles as a Renault Clio 1.21 SPORT 16v, but it is in no way, shape or form a Renault Sport.

Maybe this is what you mean?
