While removing my old Gearstick surround I came across this, just unplugged and dangling about. Any ideas what it could be for?

For reference, that last picture is at the left hand side where the back of the Surround connects to the dash or so.
Looks like the stalk controls plug for the head unit if I'm not mistaken?
