Whats this noise?

I have had a noise in my engine for a while now and over the last few days its got a bit louder.

It sounds like it is coming from around the cam cover area (clio 16v)

Sound seems to go away at around 2000 rpm.

dodgy noises from the cambelt = dodgy!!!

It was changed.

Noise was there before and after!

Did you get the tensioners etc changed as well? I don't know if that could cause it but could possibly be the problem?

What kind of noise is it tho?

My money would be on the cambelt idlers/tensioners is its a sqeaking noise...especially if it goes away/gets drowned out above 2k.

As above i would say tensioners or alternator.

I cant play the clip,But I had a funny noise coming from my water pump before it was changed & that was down the cam belt side of the engine.

Ok the noise seems to get drowned out at around 2000 rpm.

Sounds like a sort of whiring noise (on and off) seems to be quieter on a warm day?

Tensioner was not done afaik.

I have decided to not use the car until its sorted.
