I'm getting so bored of the "I've bought the cheapest/shittest/oldest/fastest/crashest in the world" videos. I actually like videos of cars being rebuilt, restored or modified, but the likes of TDC and AA doing the same video over and over and over and over and over again with a slightly different car is getting so dull. They're clearly all just trying to copy the success of Matt Armstrong, but it's just tedious.

The YouTube algorithm is a huge part of the problem though, as it effectively forces people out of being creative and just trying to follow trends.

because you don't have to be creative to stick videos on YouTube, and even if you have a hit like Matt Armstrong, there's nothing to say you have the ability to evolve the format when it starts to become stale.

People hate when their favourite show gets cancelled on telly, but that generally happens when it's got old and people are starting to turn off.

I suspect that will start to happen with a lot of these channels if they're not careful. There are only so many times people want to watch someone buy a s**t example of a car and fire a parts cannon at it, with a Car Vertical ad thrown in for good measure too of course.

I love BQR. Watched his videos for years now but it made me chuckle how he properly sorted it for track with the coilovers, diff etc, then pootled round the ring. I know he was having issues but he seemed to drive it harder on the streets around the track rather than the track itself 😂

I guess it's more costly to crash on track than it is on the road from a financial point of view? Do you also get charged for recovery if you break down on track?

His V8 E36 is pretty cool too.

I hate it!! The whole shocked OMG, what have I done? face is f**king boring now!

Definitely. I redid all the branding for my channel a few months ago, had what I thought were really clean, good looking thumbnails, but I've had to start putting faces on them (not mine for the most part thankfully) as it does make a real difference.

The need to be clickbait-y is really frustrating to be honest, but the internet is full of mongs who want overly dramatic nonsense sadly.

I agree with you. I don't know why it's a thing, it's so annoying!!
I won't get some examples as I'd rather smash my screen up.
