Whats your turnover sound like & how quick?

A couple of weeks back I had a new battery fitted to the 182, the same specification in cold cranking amps as what was previously in there.

Originally as soon as the key was turned in the ignition the car would turn over almost immediatley. Sometimes I noticed it seems alittle laboured and doesn't quite jump to life as it sometimes has before.

I have short journeys to work during the week and is pritty much only driven there and back. At the weekend it gets a bit more of a run.

Yesterday morning it was quite cold and something strange happened. I turned the key for it to try and start but it wouldnt turn over, no noises. Like it had turned over but it hadn't. Tried again and it was fine.

I've only had the car about 7 or 8 weeks and with such short distances I usually charge the battery up over night every few weeks. It's never gone flat since the new battery (and the amp draining it was removed) but I don't want the inconveinience of that happening. It does seem to start quicker after the charge.

I've done the 'press trip cycle button and turn on ignition' and there don't seem to be any problems or letter errors coming up. Just it's not inspiring confidence in me as to whether it'll start sometimes! Sort of like it's turning over on the 2nd 'turn' of the engine. I can't really describe the sound but hopefully someone knows what I'm on about!

Any suggestions/comments welcome,

Thanks

Could be. Would this give some cold start issues too? In that it starts second time and the first attempt looks like the result of a flat battery in that nothing at all really happens from the engine.

Any idea as to the cost for parts? and also the get the job done as in how many hours labour?
