Wheel balancing

Is it common for the weights to come off the alloy. Think mine have on the passenger side and I can feel it a little in the steering with it feeling abit light on that side.

Going to get it sorted one day this week as I need a new tyre anyway, but until then it isn't really going to affect abything on the tires or steering is it?

Cheers

yeah they can come off if the wheel hasnt been cleaned properly before they were put on....
no wont effect anything massivly but a little steering vibration/wobble at motorway speeds which is more anoying than anything!!!

I knocked some off cleaning the wheels once, just got mine rebalanced while they were off the car and its a lot better now :)

Ok cheers guys just wanted to make sure. Like you say probably dirty wheels when fitted. Car is spanking clean at the minute gave it a mini detail at the weekend so I will get it done before they get dirty again.

Garage usually takes some sort of handheld dremel type polisher to mine before balancing so the weights stick if they are dirty.
