Wheel bearings going in short amount of time?

I had both rear wheel bearings replaced by a local garage in the middle of August. A couple of weeks ago the sound returned which made me believe it was the front bearing that was going after only just having the rear ones done. I took it to a different garage as they quoted a cheaper price for doing the bearing and a few friends recommended him. He told me it was both the rear ones going and nothing to do with the front. I couldn't bear the noise so got him to replace the loudest (£78).

I got in touch with the garage who did them in the first place and he was a bit rude and arsey and said that i should have took it to him in the first place etc.. He told me to come back down and he will sort out the other side free of charge and he'll send that and the other bearing (which i have) to the manufacturer.

Is there anything apart from cheap parts that could make it go in such a small amount of time?

I made the mistake of using cheap bearings. One lasted about 8months. It was a false economy, so bought genuine Renault rear discs with bearings.

As a side note, a pair of rear discs are circa £100. Fitting shouldn't be much.

incorrect offset of wheels would be the main thing

Maybe it is this. when looking at the car the right wheel is not perfectly straight. I think this is due to an accident it had before i got the car. oh. can't be doing with replacing them all the time if it is going to be doing this, i wouldn't mind if i could change them myself as they arn't expensive and i don't expect to have the car too long or doing many miles when i move to uni.
