Wheel Bearings Going

First of all my car is a megane sorry for posting here, rousey suggested I post here as its a active forum and you guys know your stuff when it comes to renaults.

Sorry if im being an arse.

I think my wheel bearing is going on my back right wheel, I hear a high groaning sound, which increased in deep tone as the car gains speed.

How much are they to get repaired at a garage roughly? - I read that you cant do it with a normal toolset as the bearings need to be pressed in place, prehaps thats bullsh*t.

Enlighten me!

Cheers

Dave

welcome on board mate - no need to fear about not having a clio!

Wheel bearings as a stand-alone part are quite cheap from what I remember, its the fitting that costs. Not that I have a clue whats involved mind... :p Where are the techies when you need them?

Does anyone know if wheel bearings can be fitted with a standerd toolkit? I read that you needed a press to press the bearings in?

You wont get em out or the new ones in without a press.

If you can take the hub off yourself, take the whole thing along with a new bearing to a back street garage and ask them to do it. My local charge £20 a pop.
