Wheel Bearings

I have a 172 cup with 44k on the clock. its going to be 5 years old in july.

I have started to hear a whining noise coming from the rear which i immediately thought would be the bearings going!

Is it not kinda unusual for these to need replaced after this kind of mileage? am i just unlucky?

how much would i be talking to replace these? parts and labour

Have the rear discs been replaced? if not then bang a new set on, they have the bearings pressed into them.

arent the rear discs pretty expensive? no they havent been replaced but they barely work anyway! should this solve the probelm then?

£175 for genuine discs with pressed in bearing and pads from yozzasport, get it done.

Mine went at 50kish.

I just put a new pair of rear discs and pads on mine.Parts cost £260.Got me mate to fit them.

GSF are selling the genuine Renault discs complete with bearings on ebay for £130 delivered. Its quite simple to fit yourself with a simple socet set, and torque wrench, you will also need a 30mm deepish socket piece. renault also recommend you change the nuts, you will need 2X 7703034258. The discs with bearings are 7701204901. Youll need some decent pads aswel!!

TBH its a waste pressing new bearings into worn discs.

what are folks opinions on these? they would work out cheaper for me than getting the genuine renault ones as this pacakge comes with pads and is only a tenner more expensive than the genuine renault discs
